The Light Of the Gospel

"Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart."  II Corinthians 4:1-5

In this verse, Paul tells us that the life (light) of the Lord has brought us mercy to such a degree that we do not lose heart (we don’t quit because we cannot)! Our heart has been strengthened by the quality of the mercy we have received from God.

Also we find in verse two that we have renounced the hidden things of shame….but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. The Gospel of Jesus Christ causes us to renounce shameful and deceitful things because all things are made manifest by the light that is in us.

In Ephesians we were taught that we are light in the Lord (Eph 5:8). This light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it. Jesus has done this for us!

The Gospel of Christ is able to penetrate the deepest darkness. Paul says, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God should shine on them. In order to see, God requires that we believe that He sent His Son. The moment we believe, we see. The Lord has given every man the ability to believe. The whole world is in darkness.

Only those who believe while being blind will see.

What situations do you now have where you cannot see your way through?

Remember, “the just shall live by his faith.”

Believe and you will see the salvation of God.
